AI Receptionist

Every call answered. Even the ones at 9pm.

A voice that picks up when your hands are full, works out whether it's an emergency or it can wait till morning, takes the job details down properly, and texts the lot to you before you've climbed down the ladder.

What it does

It's a receptionist, not a voicemail

Answers every time

Nights, weekends, public holidays, and while you're under a house with your phone in the ute. Never engaged, never goes to voicemail.

Works out if it's urgent

A burst pipe at 11pm and a quote for a reno next month are not the same call. It sorts one from the other, rings you about the first, and texts you the second to deal with in the morning.

Gets the details you need

Address, what's actually gone wrong, house or unit, parking and access — and whether they own the place or they're renting, so you don't drive to Ringwood to find out the agent hasn't approved it.

Books it in

Straight into your calendar, in windows rather than exact minutes — because jobs run over and a broken promise is worse than a vague one.

Texts you the lot

A text and an email after every call with the name, the number and one line on the job. You can read it in ten seconds sitting in the ute.

Gets rid of the time-wasters

Out-of-area callers, price shoppers, and the four SEO blokes who ring every week. It handles them politely so you never hear about it.

Live demo

Have a go — it's answering my phone right now

This is the real thing, not a recording. Ask it what I charge, whether I work in your suburb, or ask it to book you a call. Try to trip it up, honestly — that's the best way to judge whether it's good enough for your customers.

Ready when you are

Your browser will ask for microphone access — that's how it hears you. Nothing is stored from this demo beyond what Vapi needs to run the call, and you can hang up at any time.

Rather not use your microphone? Call 0410 101 110 and the same assistant will answer.

Who it suits

Where it earns its keep

Every trade has its own version of the same problem. Here's what it looks like in yours.

Sparkies

Half your calls are 'no power' and the other half can wait a fortnight. It tells them apart, and it knows to say turn it off at the board and ring triple zero if there's smoke.

Plumbers

Burst pipes don't happen at 10am on a Tuesday. It picks up at midnight, gets the address, and rings you — while the other three plumbers they called are still asleep.

Chippies and builders

Long jobs, long quotes, and a phone that rings while you're on the saw. It captures the enquiry properly so you're not ringing back cold with no idea what they want.

Landscapers and gardeners

Quotes for a specific address, one-off or regular, size of the block. The details you'd otherwise scribble on the back of a docket.

Painters and tilers

Room counts, surfaces, timeframes. It gets the boring questions out of the way so your first conversation is worth having.

Locksmiths and emergency trades

Everything is urgent and everything is now. It answers on the first ring, every time, and gets them straight to you.

Pricing

What it costs

Worth checking

The $99 a month care plan covers every call cost up to 300 minutes — comfortably more than most tradies use. Past that it's charged per minute at cost, and I'll warn you before it happens rather than surprising you on an invoice.

You keep your number. Calls can go to the receptionist all the time, or only after it rings out to you for a few seconds, whichever you prefer.

No lock-in contract. If it's not pulling its weight, turn it off.

Questions

The honest answers

Will my customers know it's an AI?

If they ask, it tells them — and I'd push back hard on any setup that lies about it. Most people don't mind at all once their question gets answered at 8pm on a Sunday.

What if it gets something wrong?

It's built to say "I'm not sure, I'll get Aryan to call you back" rather than guess. Anything it can't answer becomes a message with the caller's details, sent to you straight away.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Your existing number gets forwarded, either always or only when you don't pick up. Takes a few minutes with your phone provider and I'll talk you through it.

Are calls recorded?

Calls are transcribed so you get a summary, and the assistant says so at the start of the call. You decide how long anything is kept. See the privacy policy.

How long until it's running?

Usually a few days. Most of that is me writing what it should say and you checking you're happy with it.

Stop losing jobs to voicemail

Fifteen minutes on the phone and I'll tell you whether this is worth it for your business. If it isn't, I'll say so.
